About the Event

Designmatters welcomes indigenous artist Joel Garcia (Huichol) as he takes us through a journey of his current work with monuments and how it’s shaping Los Angeles County. He will explore the role and impact of creative action, informed by research, community stakeholders and share examples of best practices related to his work including the importance of narrative storytelling. Joel will be joining us for several days during his residency during Week 5 to share his time and talents while creating space for learning and greater visibility to our Indigenous community at ArtCenter.
