LGBTQIA+ Initiatives

OVERVIEW

The Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at ArtCenter is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming community for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. We partner with various departments and community based organizations to host speakers, exhibits, discussion groups and social gatherings that celebrate the rich diversity of our campus and community. The Center for DEI offers a series of workshops and events to help you gain a greater understanding of how to become a better ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.

LGBTQIA+ FRIENDLY CAMPUS

The Center for DEI participates in Campus Pride and LGBTQIA+  Friendly College Fairs in an effort to increase student representation.

LGBTQIA+ FOCUSED COURSE OFFERINGS

Although ArtCenter encourages all faculty to incorporate a variety of diverse persona, lifestyles and references into all courses we realize that specialized courses focused on the LGBTQIA+ community are valuable in creating a comprehensive learning experience for all students. Contact us for a list of current of LGBTQIA+ course offerings.

ALLYSHIP

Several current staff and faculty members have have stepped forward and received training to become LGBTQIA+ Allies at ArtCenter College of Design. Allies provide a listening ear, positive resources or referrals to anyone dealing with sexual orientation or gender identity concerns. Contact us  if you're interested in our allyship program.
